The Shanghai-based label debuted on schedule at New York Fashion Week for SS'18 and Paris Fashion Week for SS’20. FW’21 marks the label’s third consecutive season in Paris.

Luo likes to put a spin on a temporal reference. His collections have explored the subcultures of ‘50s-era Americana, the dazzling ‘70s, a “Virgin Suicides” tainted ‘90s suburban America and New York city at the turn of the ‘90s. From these time vignettes always emerges a strong and focused story, which has helped to position himself in the foreground of a global fashion scene.

The past year has led Calvin to turn his attention to the future with introspective collections amplifying the voices of the strong women who inspire him.

Calvin Luo is also the founder of Rouge Fashion Book, China’s first independent fashion and art magazine.
Echoing his 10.0 Womenswear Collection CALVINLUO releases a 10 Look Menswear collection for Fall/Winter 2021 entitled “Listen to the echo, tranquilly”.
In the ‘70s, the turbulent socioeconomic and political development inadvertently broke the cultural monopoly on class and music splintered into many popular genres, fearlessly emitting a voice singular to that era, and a peculiar fashion emerged from it: tight fitting, leather jackets, leggings, colors, patchwork, patent leather...
To Calvin, current events echo the emergence of a comparable change. He sees the vital necessity to vigorously break the shackles and rise to the occasion, as they did in the ‘70s. With its Menswear offering, CALVINLUO draws on the spirit of that era to present a series of unconstrained looks playing with singularity while echoing the required comfort necessity of our time.
The collection boasts simple, yet rich, details with delicate craftmanship. Fits and stitches are pragmatic while flaunting strong and modern custom hardware, with a play on ton-sur-ton patchwork. Leather jackets and pants are no longer 70’s tight, but instead show enlarged proportions and lines that harmoniously define the unity of shoulders, waistline and legs, promoting free movement of the body.
The more chaotic our surroundings are, the more important it is to cultivate patient and poise. Calvin presents a singular and unique voice in men’s fashion; rooted in the present, one that echoes modernity, flexibility and freedom. He invites you to consider, tranquilly, the echo of the past.
