Menswear designer Ximon Lee is of Korean descent and was born in Hong Kong. After studying menswear at Parsons New York and launching his label he decided to move to Berlin where he currently resides. XIMONLEE was shortlisted for the LVMH Prize in 2015.

What other functions and meaning can be conferred on clothing in addition to its decorative use? With the risings and fallings of different regimes in history, was clothing seen as political symbols, propaganda tools or an ideological reinforcement? Starting from the long history of the marriage between clothing and politics, we avoid the discussion of ideological content and instead focus on the visual concept of political aestheticization. XIMONLEE Fall/Winter 2019 collection presentation stages a ceasefire agreement between two fictional parties, allowing a simulated reconciliation between a nihilistic group and an idealist group.
