Samantha Siu grew up in a world shaped by jewelry. Her parents owned manufacturing workshops in New York and China, and she spent much of her childhood among the rhythm of production — stones being set, molds cooling, fabrics cut. What began as play became a quiet education in craft and material, and over time, an understanding that jewelry could hold something more lasting than decoration.
At Fordham University, she studied psychology, drawn to the connection between emotion, perception, and art. After graduating, she worked as a merchandiser for large retailers including Macy’s, Zales, and Helzberg, learning the language of mass production from the inside. It was there she began to imagine another path — one that balanced scale with care.
Her studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology led her to wax carving, a traditional method that had all but disappeared from contemporary jewelry making. The practice gave her work a sense of intimacy and tactility that defined her debut collection, A Love Affair, a series of necklaces designed to be experienced in the round. X
Siu has since expanded her practice to earrings and bracelets, continuing her exploration of pieces that move and transform with the wearer. “I want to change how people think about jewelry,” she says, “by creating designs that ask for interaction.”
Her work has appeared in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, and Forbes, and is carried by Selfridges, Hudson’s Bay, Ocean House, 1stDibs, and Nordstrom. In 2025, she completed a master’s degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology at Harvard University’s Extension School, preparing to grow her brand with the same blend of artistry and structure that has guided her from the start.
